Steve Agnew Mandolins

At present, Steve produces three distinct styles of mandolin, one of which is his own design (the FB model).Of the other two, one is a design classic, the A&N model, and the other was designed in collaboration with Eagle music as part of their exclusive Erin brand

All three models use a 360mm scale length and 34mm nut but other than their playability the similarities end here. Each model has its own characteristic sound because of the varying body sizes and bracing positions

The FB model has a distinctive and unique bass presence which combined with its sparkling trebles make its rich sound great for punching out tunes and for chorded accompaniment in both the classical and Celtic fields

The Erin mandolin is a true professional instrument with its powerful pickup fitted as standard. The x-brace technology produces clearly defined, bright tones, perfect for the Celtic music world

The A&N model Steve makes is a modification of a classic design that has been around for nearly a century. The small, slim body belies its loud, brash nature. The mandolin is equally at home in noisy sessions where it cuts above the hubbub or in studio work where it produces a sweet melodic tone when played softly
