Steve’s bouzoukis and octave mandolas are made with the same care and precision as all of his other instruments

Steve produces two ranges of bouzoukis and octave mandolas: the Erin range and his own take on traditional designs. Both ranges retain the mandolin’s 34mm nut ensuring a uniformity of feel and playability within the family. This in turn makes progression, especially from mandolin to octave mandola, an absolute joy

The octave mandolas have a scale length of 520mm and are an ideal halfway house between mandolins and bouzoukis. Their tight bright trebles are perfect for melodies and the rich spectrum of tones make using them for accompaniment a rewarding experience

The bouzoukis’ large body and guitar scale length (645mm) along with their sensitively tuned ‘X’ braces ensure these are instruments of power and depth with that sonorous quality much sought after in Celtic music
